As part of the Ladies’ Wing monthly activities, TACS organised a Mother’s Day celebration to honour and appreciate the invaluable role of   mothers and other caregivers in the community. The celebration took place on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at Bedok Community Centre, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The programme featured traditional games such as Phalanguli, food and TACS stalls, and performances by children and adults. A special highlight was a group dance involving all the ladies who attended,    led by Ms Bhakthi, Ms Jeyanthi, and Ms Kalyani.

Together they formed the number “70” on the platform to symbolise

the 70th anniversary, making the day joyful and memorable.

  1. Celebrated mothers in a warm, informal setting that fostered appreciation and community spirit.
  2. Encouraged active participation of the Ladies’ Wing in community-building events.
  3. Strengthened family involvement in society-led initiatives.
  4. PRESIDENT MEETING WITH TRC: The Chairman proposed a meeting with Mr Pandian, President of TRC, to emphasise the importance of addressing key concerns and to provide insights related to the Tamil community and the Tamil language. TRC, as the umbrella organisation, will be requested to organise an annual ministerial dialogue to address the declining Tamil population and to promote the use of Tamil by organisations such as People’s Association (PA), Narpani, and the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC). Notably, the proportion of Tamils among Indians declined from 65 % in 1990 to 54% in 2020. The President insisted that TRC, being directly responsible for issues related to the Tamil community and language, should take the lead in addressing these matters.
  1. CONCLUSION:

The Management Committee is deeply appreciative of the support given by members, donors, sponsors, and volunteers. The MC also thanks all those who contributed to the Society’s activities during the Management’s tenure.
